“The world is pretty rough out there. I can’t do anything about the sea and the waves, but I can help you build a better boat.”

- Simon Mills, British Herbalist and Phytotherapist

Our philosophy

An essential part of living your authentic life requires practices that enable quiet introspection. Looking inward to understand your strengths and values is critical to self-understanding and how you achieve your personal and professional aspirations.

However, life is not, nor should it be, lived in a vacuum. It is lived in a world full of distractions, opportunities, contradictions, as well moments of piercing clarity. It is lived amongst hope and fear, as well as inspirations and despair. So, regardless of where you are on your journey, building positive and self-reinforcing disciplines selected across domains of whole-person health can provide you with the energy, resilience, and self-confidence you need to thrive in our rapidly changing world.

Our coaching and yoga instruction is designed to provide inspiration as well as accountability. Our philosophy is founded on the American College of Lifestyle Medicine’s 6 pillars of lifestyle medicine:

Optimal Nutrition

Whole foods plant-based diet including fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, and spices.

Restorative Sleep

Create the right conditions for mental and physical recovery through proper sleep hygiene

Physical Activity

Physical activities that increase flexibility, strength, balance, and endurance through yoga and Zone 2 exercise

Connectedness

Group activities with peers and family through sports, hobbies, travel and sharing space.

Stress Management

Focus practices, like breath work and meditation, and creative endeavors

Risky Substance Avoidance

Avoiding alcohol, tobacco, and other intoxicants to lower the health risks

At Wellogin, we are fond of wheels. In particular, the dharma wheel, which is typically depicted as a wheel with eight spokes corresponding to the Noble Eightfold Path that embodies the dynamic, cyclical propagation of wisdom, ethical conduct, and insight that guides practitioners toward awakening and the cessation of the suffering.

We are also particularly fond of bicycles. For us, riding a bike through a rhythmic cadence of pedaling and breath becomes a moving meditation, transforming ordinary motion into a practice of mindfulness as we glide efficiently through space and time.

Unlike sitting meditation, riding meditation immerses the practitioner into an ambience of constantly changing terrain, temperature, light, sound, and surroundings to create a perfect appreciation of interdependence, impermanence, and quiet simple joy of being alive.
